On April 12, the Chicago Police Department Gang Unit notified the Stevens Point Police Department that an Armed and Dangerous Felon, Jerome Camphor, was currently staying at 2165 Prairie Street Stevens Point.

The information also provided that Camphor, who has an active parole warrant through the Illinois Department of Correction, was currently in possession of a handgun and that he was quoted as saying, “I’m not going down without a fight.”

Due to Camphor's extensive criminal background and gang affiliation, the Stevens Point Police and Portage County Sheriff's Department SWAT teams were utilized for containment and entry into the home, and took Camphor into custody without incident.
