The search for missing UW-SP student Eric Duffey concluded when a body identified as Eric’s was found in the Wisconsin River this afternoon. The City of Stevens Point thanks everyone, especially all the volunteers, who was involved in searching for Eric.
The Stevens Point Police Department regrets to advise that we have located the body of Missing UWSP College Student, Eric Duffey.
At approximately 1:05 pm on Monday, March 5, a diver discovered a body in the Wisconsin River just north of the Clark Street bridge. This location is very close to where Eric went missing on the morning of March 3.
Coroner Scott Rifleman has positively identified the body as that of University of Wisconsin Stevens Point student, Eric Duffey.
Many different agencies and volunteers assisted us in the search and recovery effort. On behalf of the Stevens Point Police Department, Assistant Chief Brian Kudronowicz thanks everyone who assisted.
