[ARCHIVED] Snow Emergency

A snow emergency will be in effect in the City of Stevens Point effective at 8:00 AM Saturday morning and will remain in effect until 12:00 Noon on Sunday.

A snow emergency will be in effect in the City of Stevens Point effective at 8:00 AM Saturday morning and will remain in effect until 12:00 Noon on Sunday.

This snow emergency is necessary because of the 12-16 inches of snow we are expected to get, which will make snow removal operations challenging.

When a Snow Emergency is in effect in the City of Stevens Point, no person may park, stop, or leave any vehicle upon the streets or any portions of the streets in the city during the snow emergency. Any vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed by the Police Department in order to allow the Street Department the opportunity to clear city streets of the recently fallen snow.

During times of heavy snowfall, stay tuned in to local radio stations and other news media and avoid parking on city streets if they have not been cleared of snow, in anticipation of a Snow Emergency declaration.
