[ARCHIVED] In-Person Absentee Voting for April 5 Election

Individuals who wish to vote early for the Spring Presidential Primary and Spring General Election may vote in-person or by mail. Voters are reminded to bring proper photo identification.

City Clerk John Moe reminds voters that they have two options for voting absentee.

The first option is to vote at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, 1515 Strongs Avenue, through Friday, April 1. The second option is to submit a written request/application to receive an absentee ballot through the mail.

Hours for voting at the City Clerk’s Office are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday beginning March 21, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 31 and April 1, 2016. The Clerk's Office will be closed on Friday, March 25.

Requests to receive an absentee ballot by mail must be received by the Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31. The completed ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day, Tuesday, April 5 in order for it to be counted.

Some examples of acceptable Photo IDs include a Wisconsin Driver License, Wisconsin State ID, Wisconsin Driver or State ID receipt, Veteran Health Card ID, U.S. Passport or Card, U.S. Uniformed Services ID, Tribal ID, Certificate of Naturalization, University or College ID that is voter ID compliant. University or College students who do not have an acceptable form of photo identification for voting purposes can contact their school administration to obtain a voting compliant ID card. Clerk Moe reminds residents who have not already registered to vote or those who have either moved or changed their name will need to re-register before they will be allowed to vote.

Applications for absentee ballots and voter registration are available at the Clerk’s Office and on the City’s website.
