[ARCHIVED] Police Ask for Help to Identify Vehicle and Driver

On Tues., May 13, at approximately 7:00 PM, a 10-year-old boy notified Police that as he was walking in the 2700 block of Indiana Ave., a newer, grey mini-van pulled up alongside him and the driver asked him if he wanted to go to the Dollar Store.

The boy told the man, “No,” and the man drove away.

The boy described the man as approximately 40 years old with a reddish beard and was possibly wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. The man did not say anything else to the boy and did not exit his vehicle or make any attempts to grab the boy.

Police Officers immediately checked the area and were unable to locate the described van. The Stevens Point Police Department is looking for assistance from the public to help identify the driver of this vehicle as the man’s intentions are not known.

Please contact Detective Sgt. Joe Gruber at 715-346-1518 with any information.
