[ARCHIVED] Attempted Abduction in Pfiffner Park

On Sept. 1, around 9 pm, Officers were dispatched to Pfiffner Park to investigate an attempted abduction of an 8-year-old female. The victim said the suspect approached her near the playground, called her by name, and said her mother was looking for her.

The victim reported the suspect began escorting her away from the playground before she began yelling for her mother. The suspect then told the victim to sit on a bench near the playground as he needed to use the restroom. The suspect left the area and did not return.

The suspect was described as Male/White in his 30s, approximately 5'6" to 6', thin build, short brown hair combed to the side, and wearing glasses.

It was also reported that patrons of the Jazz Fest being held at Pfiffner Park may have witnessed this incident. If anyone has information concerning this incident, please contact Detective Sergeant Gruber at 715-346-1518.
