The next section of the Ellis Street Project from Fremont Street to Michigan Avenue will be starting this week and is expected to be completed by the end of August. Garbage and recyclable pick-up will change in the new construction area.
Beginning Tuesday, July 30, residents on this section of Ellis St. can begin placing their garbage and recyclables in clear plastic bags for collection. The clear plastic bags are needed to distinguish between garbage and recyclables after being distributed to a central location for pick-up.
Residents, place your next garbage and recyclables in clear plastic bags for pick-up by 7:00 a.m.
Ellis Street will be closed to traffic from Division Street to Michigan Avenue during construction.
Access to driveways will be limited, overnight parking will be available on adjacent streets,
and a temporary parking lot at the former Emerson School site.
