The city of Stevens Point conducted the first public information meeting for the current corridor study for Business 51 (Division/Church Street) in Stevens Point on Tuesday, January 22.
See an Overview of the Project that was presented at the meeting.
The city of Stevens Point is developing long-range plans for the Business 51 (Division/Church Street) corridor from the south city limits north to I-39. The roadway will be reconstructed in phases over several years as funding allows. However, an environmental document will first be completed for the entire corridor.
The results of the study, contained in the environmental document, will allow the City, land owners, and local businesses to make informed land use decisions compatible with the long-range plans.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2016 (at the earliest) between the south city limits and Patch Street.
More information about the study and the project will be posted on this website as it becomes available over time. Go to StevensPoint.com/Construction for information about this and other road construction projects, or hover your mouse over "Residents" (above) then "Road Construction" and then click "Business 51."
