[ARCHIVED] Public Meeting Scheduled for Business 51 in Stevens Point

The city is holding a public information meeting for the corridor study for BUS 51 (Division/Church Street) on Tues., Jan. 22, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Jefferson School, 1800 East Ave. A short presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Open-house format follows.

The city of Stevens Point is conducting a public information meeting for the current corridor study for BUS 51 (Division/Church Street) in Stevens Point. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary School, 1800 East Avenue, Stevens Point. A short presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Construction of the southern portion of the project is planned immediately following the study.

As a convenience to the public, the meeting is being conducted in an open-house format. Persons interested in the project can visit anytime during the posted meeting hours.

The limits for the BUS 51 study extend from the south limits of the city of Stevens Point to the I 39 ramps. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss why the roadway is deficient and why a project is necessary for this corridor.

The public is encouraged to attend and share comments about the study, ask questions and provide information that will assist as the City develops a future vision for this corridor. Various exhibits and maps will be on display and project staff will be available to discuss the project during the meeting.
