Cities in Wisconsin are authorized by state statutes to establish a Plan Commission. In general, plan commissions advise their local governing body on comprehensive planning and land use issues, and may make related decisions that are delegated by the governing body. A primary role of the Commission is to prepare and administer a comprehensive plan while providing leadership and insight into opportunities and challenges that confront the community.
The Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. The Community Development Department provides staffing for the Commission. The deadline for applications is two weeks prior to the meeting by 4:00 p.m.
The Commission reviews the following types of requests:
- Annexation Requests
- Certified Survey Map Review
- Conditional Use Requests
- Planned Unit Development Review
- Public Right-of-Way Vacation
- Rezoning Requests
- Site, Building, and Landscape Reviews
- Subdivision Plat Review
To appear before the Plan Commission, please complete the appropriate application (for Conditional Use Permits, Rezoning, Variances, etc.) on our Applications Page.
