Our Fourth Downtown Mural at the Cozy Kitchen
We'll be "Painting the Town - Downtown" once
again this summer. This time we will be working with Lois and Terry, owners of the Cozy Kitchen located at 1338
Third St. We will be painting the mural (seen on this page in the artists conceptual design sketch) on the north
wall. Thank you for your continued support of the mural projects over the past several years. Without your support,
our downtown would not be living our history through these murals.
The Cozy is the longest operating restaurant in Stevens Point. Over the years, thousands of "locals"
and visitors enjoyed a fine home cooked meal at the Cozy. Speaking of locals, it is our hope that this mural does
depict some of the locals that have made the restaurant their home. The mural will show the inside of the restaurant
and famous wall of pictures and such. The mural will cover the entire north wall of the building will be painted
by a local artist. Greg Luedtke, a resident of Custer, has been selected for this project. As a professional, he
has completed jobs from portraiture to private and commercial contracts throughout Central Wisconsin.
Approximately 35 people will be depicted in this mural, and once again we have sold these faces to help pay for
the cost of the mural. We gave past supporters the first opportunity to purchase a face. The deadline for submitting
a face request was April 20, 2009. The cost was $150 per face if you were chosen.
All of the faces have been sold! Thank you!
We realize that not everyone is interested in a face on the mural but would still like to continue supporting the
murals. Your donation would be greatly appreciated and will help us offset the costs associated with mural.
