“Emerging Artists” Student Art Exhibit Opens March 2

The “Emerging Artists” Stevens Point junior and senior high school student art exhibit opens Friday, March 2, with a reception on Sunday, March 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Riverfront Arts Center (RAC).

Artwork by students in grades 7 through 12 was selected by the art teachers at Ben Franklin Junior High School, P.J. Jacobs Junior High School, Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH), Pacelli Catholic Middle and High School and St. Paul Lutheran School.

Ten students will be awarded an "Award of Excellence" and will have their artwork on display at the Festival of Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Noel Fine Arts Center on April 8.

The RAC congratulates all students who will have artwork on display in the gallery and throughout the community during Youth Art Month. Thank you to all teachers, parents and members of the community who support these emerging artists.

The Riverfront Arts Center is open to the public and Free of charge.

Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Closed on Mondays, holidays, and between exhibits.

Attention Artists - It is also time to start thinking about the annual "Peeps" candy art exhibit. Submissions will be due to the RAC March 20-March 25.
